Hailing from the vibrant landscapes of South America, Rheas bring a touch of exotic allure to our sanctuary.  Despite facing threats in the wild due to habitat loss and overhunting, these resilient creatures have found their niche in the livestock trade, showcasing their adaptability and tenacity. Our journey with these incredible birds began when they arrived in a humble rubber tote, a testament to their humble beginnings and remarkable growth.  Here at the farm, our quartet of Rheas have found their forever home, where they spend their days indulging in their favorite pastimes. From playful dances that rival the elegance of a ballroom to their mischievous habit of uprooting bamboo and exploring every nook and cranny, these birds are bursting with personality.  But it's not all fun and games – our Rheas also play a vital role as natural pest controllers. With an insatiable appetite for trampling rodents, they keep our farm in pristine condition, ensuring a harmonious balance between man and nature.  Among our flock, one particular Rhea stands out – "Bad Bird," the feisty little white Rhea who has garnered quite the social media following.
